My dear friend Kenneth!! Words will probably escape me a few times while writing this but you know that I always loop back around to finish my thoughts. Our friendship started during the pandemic and it’s funny because we knew of each other but it took one simple Instagram Live dj set to connect the dots. You know, the dots that I’m the best photographer in the world and that you should book with me to take headshots for your podcast. Also, your friend Kevin was such a vibe that day of the photos… and this was also the first time I’ve ever wielded an axe. Random to say the least, I was the worst at chopping wood, your friend was right there in 2nd place and you were amazing at it!
I have so much appreciation for you. You made space for me to open up about the confusion that was running through my mind. You always had the right things to say and thought provoking questions to ask that made me dig a little deeper. I can truthfully say, there were times where you believed in me more than I believed in myself. Many of times where you were cheering for me when I didn’t even feel like showing up for the game. You have saved me in more ways than one because your heart is pure. You always want the people around you to feel happy. And your words are more powerful than you could even imagine.
You show up for not only me, but the people you care about. You put in the hard work when things matter to you and you don’t give up when situations get challenging. You’re an amazing father and seeing the way your eyes light up when you talk about your son warms my heart. Thank you for coming to my surprise birthday party! #TogoGhana in the house! Thank you for bringing the ‘French Connection’ to my Expo. Thank you for greeting my mother with such respect and honor. Thank you for all the laughs. Thank you for listening to the woes of my heart. Thank you for setting up my Google security system in my shop when my power tool skills were still developing. (I am much better with a power drill now. Just need the world to know that). Thank you for allowing me to feel safe in being myself and wanting greatness for my life.
Your kindness exudes in everything that you do. I always joke and tell you that not everyone deserves your niceness. The type of energy you have is rare… protect that at all costs and pour into those who matter to you the most. There may be rain clouds in the sky, but the rain will only fall in certain areas. Those chosen spots are important because that is where the rain should be, to help those seeds grow and the flowers to fully bloom. Thank you for being in my life and not giving up on me. Thank you for valuing our friendship and holding it close to your heart. Thank you for being you…. the world is a better place because you are in it.
